Puspha 2 Movie Review: A Mixed Bag

“Pushpa 2: The Rule” continues where the first part left off, but doesn’t quite match the high expectations. The famous dialogue, “Taggede Le” is back, with a slight twist — “Asalu Taggede Le,” which doesn’t hit as hard as in the first part.

The plot follows Pushpa Raj’s rise in the red sandalwood smuggling business, but unlike the first part, the story lacks the same thrill and intensity. The second half of the movie, particularly the international smuggling track, feels routine and predictable. The stakes are raised between Pushpa Raj and AP Bhawani Singh Shekhawat, but the excitement is minimal.

A surprising twist occurs when Pushpa Raj seeks a photo with the CM, which turns into a major plot point. This sequence may remind viewers of Mahesh Babu’s “Businessman” but doesn’t evoke the same excitement.

Allu Arjun’s portrayal of Pushpa Raj is a major highlight, with his performance and elevation scenes standing out. However, Fahadh Faasil’s character doesn’t have the same weight as expected. Rashmika Mandanna’s role as Srivalli and the supporting cast, including Rao Ramesh and Jagapathi Babu, deliver strong performances, but the film lacks the magic of “Pushpa: The Rise.”

The much-anticipated special song by Shriya Leela, compared to Samantha’s iconic number in the first film, falls short. Despite the music’s popularity, it doesn’t contribute much to the film’s momentum.

Rating: 4/5
