YSRCP President and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy criticized the coalition government sharply, stating that within just six months, the governance has lost the trust of the people. He accused the coalition of using false propaganda and diversion politics to cover up its failures.
Jagan’s Criticism of Coalition Failures
Addressing local body leaders from Prakasam district, Jagan said, “The coalition government has completely failed to deliver on its election promises. It has failed to allocate the budget properly and has burdened the people with additional taxes. These actions have eroded public trust.” He pointed out the stark contrast between the coalition’s governance and YSRCP’s tenure, which was marked by a strict welfare calendar and direct benefit transfer (DBT) mechanisms to avoid corruption.
YSRCP’s Key Achievements
Jagan highlighted some of the significant achievements during his tenure:
- Establishing Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs).
- Door-to-door rice distribution reforms.
- Infrastructure projects like medical colleges, the Ramayapatnam Port, and the Veligonda irrigation tunnels.
He criticized the coalition for reinstating dealer-based ration distribution, which reintroduced corruption, low-quality rice, and the ration mafia.
Allegations of False Accusations
Jagan also addressed the allegations regarding rice distribution. “When the central and state machinery, including customs and security, is entirely under the coalition’s control, how can they make baseless accusations?” he asked. He accused the coalition’s Finance Minister P. Keshav’s relatives of monopolizing rice exports while spreading falsehoods.
Burdening the People
The YSRCP leader lambasted the coalition government for burdening people by increasing electricity tariffs by over ₹15,000 crores. “Chandrababu’s idea of wealth creation is exploitation and burdening the common man,” Jagan remarked. He also accused the coalition of privatizing public assets like ports and medical colleges.
Planned Agitations
The YSRCP announced a series of protests and campaigns to counter the coalition government’s policies:
- December 13: Farmer support movement.
- December 27: Protest against electricity tariff hikes.
- January 3: Rally against delays in fee reimbursement.
Jagan urged party workers to strengthen grassroots connections and counter misinformation through social media effectively. “This is not just a fight against an individual opposition leader but against a machinery of lies,” he declared, expressing confidence in the YSRCP’s return to power by gaining the trust of the people.
