Hyderabad: APCC Chief YS Sharmila Reddy staged a protest at Dharna Chowk today, demanding immediate implementation of the “Super Six” election promises made by the ruling government. Armed with a symbolic bell and plough, Sharmila criticized Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for failing to deliver on key schemes, even seven months into governance.
Sharmila highlighted several unfulfilled promises, including:
- Farmers’ Welfare: ₹20,000 aid per farmer is yet to be delivered, with ₹10,000 linked to Central schemes.
- Women’s Empowerment: The “Mahashakti” scheme for ₹1,500 monthly aid remains stalled, affecting over 1 crore women.
- Unemployment Benefits: Promised ₹3,000 allowance and 2 lakh government job vacancies remain unaddressed.
- Free Travel for Women: Unlike neighboring states, the free travel scheme is yet to be implemented.
She criticized the government for offering excuses instead of fulfilling commitments, stating, “The state was already in debt when these promises were made. The public will no longer accept delays or justifications.”
Sharmila warned of intensified protests if the promises are not implemented soon, calling the “Super Six” a “super flop.”
