The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) cadre in Udayagiri is deeply frustrated with their MLA Kakarla Suresh. Many regret electing an NRI politician who seems more focused on his life in America than addressing local issues.
Absentee MLA: Missing Key Party Events
Kakarla Suresh’s repeated absences from his constituency have sparked outrage. Even on significant party occasions, like NTR’s death anniversary, he was missing, leading to growing dissatisfaction among TDP workers. Adding fuel to the fire, he continues to attend private events without party approval, sidelining his responsibilities.
Corruption Allegations and Illegal Activities
Serious corruption allegations have surfaced against Kakarla’s followers, with reports of their involvement in:
- Illegal sand mining
- Ration rice scams
- Land grabbing
- Unauthorized felling of Jam Oil trees on Agrigold lands
Despite multiple complaints, no action has been taken, which is tarnishing TDP’s image and harming the government’s credibility.
Failed Election Promises & Trust Activities
Before elections, the Kakarla Trust actively ran service initiatives like:
- Medical camps
- Skill training programs
- Anna Canteen
However, post-election, these programs were abruptly shut down, revealing them as mere election gimmicks. An attempt to grab government land for the trust in Kaligiri also failed, further exposing misuse of power.
Alleged Financial Misuse & U.S. Connections
Shocking allegations claim that Kakarla Suresh diverted COVID stimulus funds meant for his brother Kakarla Sunil’s veterinary hospitals in the U.S. for election expenses. Now, fearing legal trouble in America, the Kakarla brothers are allegedly trying to siphon funds from Andhra Pradesh back to the U.S. to evade prosecution.
Sideling Senior TDP Leaders & Internal Conflicts
Kakarla’s leadership has alienated key TDP figures like former MLAs Bollineni Rama Rao and Kambam Vijayaramireddy, who were instrumental in his election victory. He even restricted their images from party banners, causing deep resentment among the cadre.
It’s an open secret that Chandrababu Naidu initially preferred Bollineni as the TDP MLA candidate. However, Nara Lokesh, who developed close ties with Kakarla during his U.S. visits, pushed him into the race against Naidu’s wishes. This internal power struggle is now hurting TDP in Udayagiri.
Public Backlash & Local Discontent
Kakarla Suresh’s lack of engagement with the people is another major concern. His son’s recent visit to villages turned into a public relations disaster, as grievances were ignored, and his responses lacked seriousness.
Even his own village, Erram Reddypalle, hasn’t seen him after the elections. Locals accuse him of permitting a liquor shop in Gandipala despite strong opposition from residents.
TDP’s Reputation at Stake
While Chandrababu Naidu works tirelessly to rebuild Andhra Pradesh, Kakarla Suresh’s negligence is damaging TDP’s reputation in Udayagiri. If this trend continues, the party risks losing ground in the constituency.
The big question remains: Will the TDP leadership step in to control the damage before it’s too late?
