A Unique Journey: Pilgrimage to Kumbh Mela and Kashi Darshan

The grand Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is attracting millions of devotees from across India and abroad. In an extraordinary feat, five young men from Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, embarked on a pilgrimage to Kumbh Mela in an auto-rickshaw, covering nearly 4,000 km on their journey.

The Beginning of the Journey

The five youths, hailing from Kattamanchi village in Bangarupalem Mandal, decided to undertake this spiritual adventure in an auto-rickshaw. With their family’s approval, they set out on January 27, beginning their journey with blessings from Kanipakam Vinayaka Temple. Their route took them through Tirupati, Kurnool, Hyderabad, and Nagpur, covering 2,000 km before reaching Prayagraj.

Spiritual Experiences at Kumbh Mela

Upon arrival, the group performed holy dips in the sacred waters of Kumbh Mela, participating in the grand spiritual gathering. After completing their rituals in Prayagraj, they extended their journey to Varanasi (Kashi), visiting the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple for darshan.

Return Journey and Unique Travel Experience

On February 1, they began their return journey, reaching their hometown on February 3. The entire trip, spanning 4,000 km, was completed solely by auto-rickshaw.

Challenges and Highlights of the Journey

  • The group carried a gas stove and cooking essentials, preparing their own meals along the way.
  • They did not book any hotel rooms, choosing instead to rest inside the auto during halts.
  • They described the journey as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, filled with adventure and devotion.

Their remarkable feat stands as a testament to their determination, faith, and spirit of adventure, making it a memorable pilgrimage for a lifetime.
