NDA Alliance in Turmoil: Leadership Clashes and Cadre Conflicts Over Collections

The NDA alliance in Andhra Pradesh is once again showing cracks as power struggles between leaders and disputes over money collections among cadres escalate. The latest flashpoint? The Teacher’s MLC elections in North Andhra, where BJP and TDP leaders are openly contradicting each other.

BJP vs TDP: Clash Over MLC Candidate

During the nomination process for sitting MLC Pakalapati Raghuvarma, TDP Graduate MLC Chiranjeevi Rao announced that TDP and NDA would support Raghuvarma.

However, in a clear sign of BJP-TDP friction, BJP state vice-president Madhav attended the nomination program of Gade Srinivasulu—a candidate backed by PRTU and STU—and declared that BJP’s support was with Srinivasulu.

This lack of coordination among leaders is raising serious questions about the stability of the NDA coalition in Andhra Pradesh.

Cadre-Level Clashes Over Illegal Collections

While top leaders fight for dominance, grassroots workers of all three NDA alliance parties are locked in a bitter dispute over illegal collections in North Andhra. The ongoing tension is affecting local governance, as:

  • Cadres are divided along party lines, leading to confusion and disorganization.
  • Ordinary citizens are caught in the crossfire, unsure of whom to approach for assistance.
  • Businesses and locals are struggling, as they are being forced to pay separate bribes to different party workers.
  • Those who pay one party’s cadre face pressure from other NDA partners, worsening the chaos.

The Need for Immediate Leadership Intervention

Political analysts warn that if the Chief Minister doesn’t intervene soon and establish order among alliance leaders and cadres, the situation could spiral out of control. If unresolved, this internal discord could become a major embarrassment for the NDA government, affecting its governance and public perception.
