Despite a Woman Home Minister & SP, Police Station Turns Unsafe for Women!

A shocking incident has emerged from Madakasira constituency in Sri Sathya Sai district, where a woman has alleged harassment at a police station. The victim, identified as Gayathri, has accused CI Ragiri Ramayya of misbehaving with her inside his chamber.

What Happened?

Gayathri approached the Madakasira police station to file a complaint regarding a dispute with acquaintances. However, she alleged that CI Ramayya called her into his chamber late at night and behaved inappropriately.

“How are you staying alone? I will support you…” were some of the inappropriate remarks made by the CI, according to Gayathri’s statement.

Complaint Filed Against CI, Public Outrage Grows

Following the incident, Gayathri lodged a formal complaint with the Sri Sathya Sai district SP, seeking justice. Locals and activists have demanded strict action against the accused CI and urged the authorities to review CCTV footage from the police station for evidence.

Women’s Groups Demand Government Action

With Andhra Pradesh having a woman Home Minister, woman SP, and even a woman Minister from the same district, many are questioning how such incidents continue to happen within the police system. Women’s rights organizations are demanding immediate government intervention, strict action against the CI, and reforms to ensure women’s safety within police stations.

Would the government respond to this incident with stringent action, or would it remain just another ignored case of police misconduct?
