MUMBAI – A Strong Warning from Shiv Sena (UBT) Leader
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray has issued a stark warning to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, cautioning them about the risks of their alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In a recent interview, Thackeray drew parallels between the 2022 split in Shiv Sena—which led to the downfall of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government—and the current political scenario of Kumar and Naidu. He suggested that the BJP’s history of manipulating regional allies could put their governments in jeopardy.
“What Happened to Us Can Happen to You”
Thackeray pointed to the Shiv Sena’s split, orchestrated by the BJP and Eknath Shinde, which led to the party’s division and loss of power in Maharashtra. He accused the BJP of employing similar political strategies to weaken and dominate regional parties.
🔸 “What happened to us can happen to Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu,” Thackeray warned, emphasizing that the BJP’s centralized control strategy could eventually destabilize their state governments.
🔸 He highlighted BJP’s past alliances with regional parties like the Akali Dal in Punjab, AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, and Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, only to later marginalize or break ties once their objectives were met.
BJP’s National Ambitions vs. Regional Parties’ Autonomy
Thackeray stressed the need for regional parties to safeguard their autonomy against BJP’s expanding influence. He warned that the BJP’s long-term strategy is to eliminate dependency on regional allies and consolidate complete control at the center.
🟠 Current Scenario:
- Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) and Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are now crucial pillars of the NDA government after the BJP failed to secure a majority in the Lok Sabha elections.
- Their support is essential for NDA’s stability, making them powerful stakeholders in the central government.
🔴 Potential Risks:
- Given BJP’s past actions, Kumar and Naidu could face political sidelining once their support is no longer required.
- The fragile balance in NDA depends on how BJP manages its regional allies in the coming months.
Will Nitish Kumar & Chandrababu Naidu Heed the Warning?
With coalition politics being inherently unpredictable, Aaditya Thackeray’s warning serves as a reminder that power imbalances within alliances can lead to political upheaval.
✔ Will Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu take precautionary measures to protect their parties?
✔ Or will history repeat itself as the BJP tightens its grip on regional partners?
As the NDA government navigates its coalition dynamics, all eyes are now on Kumar and Naidu’s next political moves.
