CM Chandrababu’s Drama Over Chilli Farmers – Former Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy’s Clarification

YSRCP Nellore district president and former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, calling his letter to the Union Minister regarding chilli farmers a “bogus move.” Addressing the media at the YSRCP office in Nellore, Kakani alleged that the CM has betrayed chilli farmers once again and has no genuine intention to support them.

Key Allegations by Kakani Govardhan Reddy:

✅ Chandrababu’s letter to NAFED (National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation) is a farce, as no chilli procurement has ever happened through NAFED in the past.
✅ If the CM had real intent, he would have provided relief through the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) instead of writing a misleading letter.
✅ The government ignored a report from horticulture department officials, which recommended ₹3,480 crore as working capital to support chilli farmers.
✅ CM Chandrababu failed to ensure security during YS Jagan’s Guntur visit, exposing an intentional security lapse to hinder the opposition leader’s movements.

Government’s Failure in Addressing Farmers’ Issues

🔹 Farmers across Andhra Pradesh are struggling due to low prices for their crops, and the government hasn’t ensured fair prices.
🔹 YS Jagan’s visit to Guntur Mirchi Yard created a buzz, forcing the government to react to farmers’ concerns.
🔹 Instead of addressing the real issues, the government and pro-TDP media are engaged in misinformation campaigns against YS Jagan.

Challenge to CM Chandrababu & TDP Leaders

Kakani Govardhan Reddy threw an open challenge to Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Achchennaidu, asking:
👉 “Can you visit the chilli yard and talk to the farmers about their issues? They will expose your failures.”

Bogus NAFED Letter Exposed

🔹 No previous government has procured chilli through NAFED. Writing a letter now is just an eyewash.
🔹 The horticulture department’s report suggested market intervention with ₹3,480 crore in working capital, which the CM completely ignored.
🔹 Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) should have been used to directly support farmers, but the CM conveniently avoided it.

Chandrababu’s Governance: No Fair Prices for Any Crop

Kakani further attacked the government for:
🚨 Failing to provide Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for any major crop.
🚨 Weakening RBK (Rythu Bharosa Kendras) and eliminating free crop insurance introduced by the YSRCP government.
🚨 Farmers of turmeric, cotton, banana, onions, and pulses have also suffered under the TDP rule.
