Coming Soon: HYDRAA 2.0 in Andhra Pradesh!

The impactful HYDRAA initiative has become a household name in Telangana, sparking numerous political discussions. Founded by Revanth Reddy, the agency focuses on eliminating illegal constructions in buffer zones near natural river bodies.

Now, Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for an upgraded version of HYDRAA as the NDA government intensifies its mission to demolish illegal properties.

Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Narayana, has unveiled the action plan for addressing illegal constructions in the state. He cited the recent devastating floods in Budameru, Vijayawada, as evidence of the dangers posed by encroachments on natural water bodies. “The illegal occupations in Budameru resulted in catastrophic floods, prompting us to clear those areas to prevent future disasters,” he explained.

The government plans to implement a similar operation throughout Andhra Pradesh, aiming to restore buffer zones by dismantling illegal structures. Narayana issued a warning to illegal occupants, urging them to vacate voluntarily. He also emphasized that for economically weaker communities, alternative solutions will be provided before any demolition takes place.

It is evident that Andhra Pradesh is on the brink of launching a demolition operation akin to HYDRAA. However, the AP government has pledged to approach this process with greater sensitivity, ensuring that the clearing efforts are non-partisan and not targeted at specific groups.
