Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has announced exciting plans to create an international golf course in Amaravati and premier courses in Anantapur and Visakhapatnam. This initiative aims to enhance sports facilities in the state and inspire young people to take up golf.
The announcement came after a meeting with former Indian cricket captain and chairman of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), Kapil Dev, who visited Vijayawada. During the meeting, Kapil Dev, along with Andhra Cricket Association president and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath, discussed ways to improve the sports landscape in the state. Naidu expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating that the new golf courses would ignite a passion for the sport among youth and help develop the next generation of golfers.
Kapil Dev, now appointed as Andhra Pradesh’s sports ambassador, praised Naidu’s dedication to promoting sports. He committed to making regular visits to support sports development in the state. According to MP Kesineni, the first golf course will be built in Anantapur, followed by courses in Visakhapatnam and Amaravati, establishing Andhra Pradesh as a future hub for high-quality golf facilities in India.
