Srikakulam: A massive fraud involving the associate of Union Minister Rammohan Naidu has come to light in the Srikakulam district. The associate, Basava Ramana, has been deceiving young women by promising them jobs in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, while collecting lakhs of rupees from them. He then subjected these women to harassment under the guise of training. A video related to the scam has surfaced, which was shared by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on social media.
Exposing the Fraud:
YSRCP shared the video on Twitter, stating, “A massive scam by the associate of Union Minister Rammohan Naidu has come to light in Srikakulam. Basava Ramana, who set up a center called ‘Indian Army Calling,’ has been promising Army, Navy, and Air Force jobs while collecting amounts ranging from Rs. 5 to 10 lakhs from each individual. This fraud is now exposed.”
Harassment Under the Guise of Training:
Allegations have surfaced that Basava Ramana installed secret cameras in the rooms of young women who came for training at his center. He recorded videos and used them to harass the women. Some of the women revealed the harassment to their families, and following their complaints, Basava Ramana continued his misdeeds, showing blatant disregard for their concerns.
Government’s Negligence:
YSRCP has strongly criticized the ruling coalition government for its inaction despite these heinous activities. “Basava Ramana is closely associated with Srikakulam MLA Gundu Shankar. When the government fails to act, such criminals emerge and continue to exploit the public. This is a clear example of how the ruling government turns a blind eye to such issues,” YSRCP remarked.
Further Allegations:
In addition to the scam, Basava Ramana has reportedly expanded his corrupt activities. He has been visiting shopping malls and bars in the city, intimidating people and failing to pay bills. His actions have caused growing dissatisfaction among the people of Srikakulam.
