In a press conference at the YSR Congress Party central office in Tadepalli, MLC Parvathareddy Chandrashekar Reddy slammed Chandrababu Naidu for his repeated failure to deliver on his promises to the unemployed youth of Andhra Pradesh.
Chandrababu had promised to fill 16,346 teacher posts through a Mega DSC (District Selection Committee), but his government’s repeated postponements of the DSC process have left thousands of jobless youth in despair. Despite claiming to address unemployment, his actions speak otherwise, as he continuously delays the announcement of notifications, leaving the youth uncertain about their future.
Mega DSC Postponements: A Betrayal of Promises
Chandrababu’s government, after taking office, signed the first official document on June 14 for the filling of 16,347 teacher posts. However, even before this, in February of the same year, YS Jagan’s government had conducted the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), and the results were declared on June 25. Chandrababu’s administration, however, decided to delay the Mega DSC notification despite the TET results, stating various reasons, including objections raised by his own people. This caused a severe setback for the unemployed candidates.
The Rising Unemployment Crisis
There are more than five lakh unemployed people waiting for the Mega DSC in the state, with an additional two million seeking government jobs. When Chandrababu assumed power, he promised to create large-scale employment. However, his actions reveal otherwise, as he is now attempting to replace permanent government teachers with volunteers, a move that many see as a betrayal.
The continued delays in the Mega DSC process have left candidates frustrated and uncertain about their future. Despite numerous promises, Chandrababu has failed to deliver, which has only led to more confusion and disappointment among the unemployed youth.
YS Jagan’s Government: Revolutionary Changes in Education and Employment
In contrast, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has made revolutionary changes in the education sector. His government has spent ₹73,417 crore on educational reforms, improving government schools and offering new modernized facilities. Under his leadership, Andhra Pradesh has become a leader in the country’s education system.
YS Jagan has also prioritized large-scale job creation. In just five years, despite the Covid crisis, his government filled 14,219 teacher posts and created over 2,13,662 permanent government jobs. This figure is far more than the 10,313 jobs created during Chandrababu’s tenure. YS Jagan’s administration also created 45,000 contract jobs and 3,71,000 outsourcing positions, making significant strides in reducing unemployment.
Chandrababu’s Focus on Privatization Over Public Welfare
One of the defining characteristics of Chandrababu Naidu’s government is his preference for privatization. From his early days in office, he showed an inclination towards privatizing public institutions, particularly in education. He has openly stated in his book that it is not the government’s responsibility to provide education and that private partnerships should be used instead. This attitude has led to a situation where public institutions are being neglected in favor of private interests, severely impacting the quality and availability of government jobs.
Failed Promises: Unemployment Under Chandrababu
Chandrababu’s administration left the unemployed youth disappointed, having only created 10,313 jobs in five years. In stark contrast, YS Jagan’s government created more than 31 lakh jobs in various sectors, including permanent, contract, and outsourcing roles. His efforts have proven to be far more effective in addressing unemployment in the state.
The Betrayal of Teachers and Government Employees
Chandrababu Naidu’s previous administration also caused widespread issues for teachers and government employees. During his tenure, the so-called “Janmabhoomi” committees humiliated teachers and subjected them to harsh conditions, with baseless allegations and undue pressure. Many teachers still remember the disgraceful treatment they received under his government.
YS Jagan, on the other hand, has worked tirelessly for the welfare of government employees, offering them better pay scales and job security. His policies have been in stark contrast to the privatization and outsourcing models that Chandrababu has pushed.
Conclusion: YS Jagan’s Commitment to Public Welfare vs. Chandrababu’s Failures
While Chandrababu Naidu continues to delay key employment notifications and push for privatization, YS Jagan’s government has consistently delivered on promises, particularly in employment and education. His revolutionary reforms in the education sector and commitment to creating permanent government jobs for the people of Andhra Pradesh are a testament to his leadership and focus on public welfare.
Chandrababu’s repeated failure to deliver on his promises and his penchant for privatization show a clear betrayal of the unemployed youth, teachers, and government employees in the state. The contrast between his actions and YS Jagan’s commitment to welfare is stark, and it’s evident who truly has the interests of the people at heart.
