The Kuppam Assembly constituency, currently represented by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has imposed restrictions on the birthday celebrations of former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. The sub-division police of Kuppam, located in Chittoor district, announced these measures on Friday.
Jagan Mohan Reddy’s birthday falls on December 21, Saturday. In their notice to the YSRCP cadre in Kuppam, the police stated that the restrictions were imposed due to the ongoing visit of Nara Bhuvaneshwari, the wife of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and the trustee of NTR Trust, who is touring the four mandals in the constituency. The police cited concerns about the potential for clashes between rival groups from the TDP and YSRCP, which led to the decision.
The notice also advised the YSRCP cadre to restrict the celebrations to within the party office premises in Kuppam and avoid any public display of publicity materials in public spaces.
