CM Chandrababu’s Close Associate BR Naidu Faces Cyber Crime Case

Lawyer Files Complaint Alleging Damage to the Prestige of Judiciary

BR Naidu, a close associate of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the Chairman of TV5 channel, is facing a cyber crime complaint. Advocate Immameneeni Ramarao has filed a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Portal, accusing TV5 of airing objectionable comments about the judiciary, judges, and lawyers during a special show on December 17. The complaint mentions BR Naidu along with TV5 Managing Director Ravindranath and anchor Sindhoor Shiva.

Previous Drug Case, Now a Cyber Crime Case

BR Naidu was previously linked to a drugs case, which sparked significant discussions at that time. After the elections, the ruling coalition government dismissed the previous allegations and appointed BR Naidu as the TTD Chairman. Now, the cyber crime complaint against BR Naidu, who is known to be a close confidant of CM Chandrababu and hails from the CM’s district, Chittoor, has become a topic of heated discussion in the media and political circles.

Details of the Cyber Crime Case

The complaint alleges that the December 17 broadcast on TV5 contained sarcastic and defamatory remarks about the Indian judiciary. Furthermore, the complaint states that TV5 violated copyright laws by broadcasting court proceedings live, an action that goes against the legal restrictions imposed by the High Court. Advocate Ramarao also accuses Sindhoor Shiva of making controversial comments on the judiciary during the show. The complaint mentions that TV5 ignored the High Court’s strict order regarding the live broadcast of court activities and violated copyright regulations by streaming the proceedings via TV5’s YouTube channel. The complaint urges Cyber Crime authorities to take immediate action against the accused.
