No Talli Ki Vandanam, Only Confusion? Will ₹15,000 Be Delivered Per Student This Year?

In Andhra Pradesh, parents are grappling with uncertainty as the coalition government delays the implementation of its “Talli Ki Vandanam” scheme, which promised ₹15,000 per student starting this year. Unlike the previous government, which implemented the scheme on a “per family” basis, the coalition had pledged to provide aid per student. However, the scheme has now been postponed to the 2025 academic year, leaving parents disappointed.

A New Promise, But No Execution Yet:

The previous government’s “Talli Ki Vandanam” scheme provided financial aid on a per-family basis. When the coalition government came into power, it promised to improve the scheme by offering ₹15,000 per student, providing additional support for families with multiple children in school.

But the recent cabinet decision indicates that the scheme will not be implemented in the 2024 academic year. Instead, the rollout is planned for 2025, and no funds have been allocated yet, raising doubts about the government’s commitment to its promises.

Financial Burden on Parents:

Many parents had already planned their children’s education expenses based on the expectation of receiving ₹15,000 per student under the scheme. Some even took loans, relying on the promised aid to repay them. Now, with the scheme deferred, these families are left in financial distress.

Key Concerns:

  1. What happens to the promised ₹15,000 for the current academic year?
  2. Will the government fulfill its promise to implement the scheme on a per-student basis?
  3. Can families trust the coalition to deliver on its enhanced version of the scheme?

Erosion of Trust in the Government:

Parents express growing dissatisfaction with the coalition government for failing to deliver on its election promises. While the government assures that the scheme will be rolled out in 2025, its decision to delay implementation and lack of clarity on fund allocation have raised serious concerns.
