Highlighting the achievements of the previous government under former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in advancing Andhra Pradesh’s industrial sector, YSRCP has criticized the coalition government for re-inaugurating projects initiated during Jagan’s tenure and slammed them for misleading the public with exaggerated claims.
Speaking to the media at the party central office here on Wednesday, former MP Margani Bharat pointed out that the Prime Minister’s recent foundation-laying ceremonies for projects such as the Green Hydrogen Plant, Railway Zone, and Bulk Drug Park were results of the groundwork laid by the previous government. He stated that the TDP-led coalition has claimed the credit for these initiatives while failing to attract any new industries during their current tenure.
Backing his claims with statistics, Bharat stated that State’s industrial growth rate increased from 11.92% in 2019 to 12.61% in 2024 under YSRCP. The per capita income also rose significantly from Rs 1.54 lakh to Rs 2.19 lakh during Jagan’s tenure, along with a jump in industrial rankings from 11th to 8th place nationally.
He also stated that TDP leaders were intimidating industrialists for personal gains, sharing an audio clip of a TDP MLA’s threats to the management of a major paper mill. He highlighted the plight of workers affected by the closure of such industries and criticized the government for not taking action to resolve labor issues or protect their livelihoods.
Bharat urged the coalition government to prioritize industrial development genuinely and stop misleading the public with hollow propaganda. He called for concrete steps to safeguard industries and workers in the state.
