In Penamaluru constituency’s Kankipadu, the Sankranti celebrations organized by Janasena leader Mupparaju have taken a controversial turn. Reports suggest that toll charges were being collected on the highway service road, which has raised concerns among the local public.
Illegal Toll Charges Collected:
Local sources claim that tolls of Rs. 100 for cars and Rs. 50 for two-wheelers were being collected on the service road, allegedly without any official sanction. This has caused public outcry, with people questioning the legality of such charges.
Public Backlash:
When questioned, the organizers reportedly justified their actions, claiming they were collecting charges because they had paid ₹2 lakh in an auction. However, this explanation has not gone down well with the public, who are now demanding clarification and immediate corrective action.
