Tadepalli, [Date]: YSR Congress Party spokesperson Kakumanu Rajasekhar today demanded the release of a white paper detailing how the state government spent the ₹1.19 lakh crore debt incurred over the past seven months. Addressing a press conference at the party’s central office, Rajasekhar said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan must provide a transparent account of the debt usage.
Rajasekhar criticized the TDP-led coalition government for failing to fulfill its election promises, particularly the Super Six commitments made by Naidu during the campaign. He questioned the government’s failure to implement these promises, claiming that the excuses given for inaction were unacceptable. “Chandrababu Naidu should follow the example set by YS Jagan, who continued welfare schemes even during the pandemic,” said Rajasekhar, pointing out that Naidu’s government had failed to do so.
Rajasekhar also took aim at Pawan Kalyan, who had guaranteed the fulfillment of the Super Six promises. “Pawan Kalyan’s silence on this matter is both disappointing and frustrating for the people,” he remarked. He further demanded that Pawan Kalyan immediately respond and fulfill the commitments he had made.
Key Highlights from the Press Conference:
- Accountability for Debt: Rajasekhar called for the TDP government to release a white paper detailing how the ₹1.19 lakh crore debt was spent over the last seven months. “The government must clarify the expenditure of these funds,” he added.
- Failure to Deliver Promises: Rajasekhar accused Naidu of failing to implement the election promises made by the TDP and instead offering excuses. “Naidu’s leadership has led to a situation where the people’s expectations are left unaddressed.”
- Call for Pawan Kalyan’s Accountability: Rajasekhar demanded that Pawan Kalyan, who had made bold promises during the election, address the public’s concerns. He questioned why Pawan Kalyan was remaining silent and not holding the government accountable for the broken promises.
- Comparison with YS Jagan’s Governance: Rajasekhar praised YS Jagan’s handling of the welfare schemes during the COVID-19 pandemic and suggested that Naidu should follow a similar approach to address the people’s needs.
- Action Needed Now: Rajasekhar concluded by stressing that if the government fails to fulfill its promises, Naidu and Pawan Kalyan should publicly apologize and step down from their positions.
The YSR Congress Party official spokesperson emphasized that the government’s inaction and lack of accountability had harmed the public trust, and urgent steps must be taken to address these issues.
The white paper on the government’s financial expenditure and a clear roadmap to implement promises were the key demands put forth by Kakumanu Rajasekhar at the press meet.
