The government-owned land of Agrigold is being illegally exploited. Valuable Jamail wood is being stolen and smuggled, sparking anger among political leaders. In the Varikuntapadu area, specifically in Bhaskarapuram, Agrigold’s land is being illegally cut for Jamail wood.
Illegal Cutting and Smuggling of Jamail Wood
MLA Kakarla Suresh’s supporters have been caught illegally cutting and transporting valuable Jamail wood from Agrigold land. This activity has been going on for the past 10 days, and despite media coverage, no action has been taken by the police, revenue officers, or CID. The authorities seem to be ignoring the problem completely.
Lokesh’s Supporter Gets Involved in Smuggling
B. Venkatar Rao, a supporter of TDP leader Lokesh, has also been linked to the illegal wood smuggling. After learning about the illegal activity, he went to the area where the wood was being cut. However, some TDP leaders tried to settle the issue quietly.
Police and Authorities Keep Quiet
Even though the Jamail wood is being stolen, the authorities are not taking any action. The police and revenue officials have remained silent. The public is frustrated with the government’s inaction, and political parties and social organizations are not speaking up either.
Agrigold Land Worth Rs. 50 Crores
Agrigold used money collected from depositors to buy 17,000 acres of land in areas like Bhaskarapuram, Kaneyampadu, and nearby villages. Around 1,500 acres of this land are used for growing Jamail wood. The total value of the wood is estimated at Rs. 50 crores. Right now, about Rs. 10 crores worth of wood is being illegally cut in the Varikuntapadu area.
