Kakinada: Tensions have risen in Tuni, Kakinada district, as YSRCP leader and Uttarandhra in-charge, Kurasala Kannababu, accused TDP of using violent methods to manipulate the Vice Chairman election. He strongly condemned the party’s tactics, alleging the involvement of both force and police support to skew the electoral process.
TDP’s Disruption of Vice Chairman Election
Kannababu claimed that TDP leaders intentionally obstructed the election in Tuni, preventing a fair voting process. He alleged that police officers were complicit in detaining YSRCP councillors to alter the election results.
Yanamala Ramakrishnudu’s Alleged Role
The YSRCP leader raised concerns over whether senior TDP leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu played a role in these alleged violent actions. He called for an official explanation from TDP leadership regarding their potential involvement.
Demand for Action Against Police Involvement
Kannababu also called for strict action against the police officers who, according to him, supported TDP’s efforts to influence the election. He urged the Election Commission and higher authorities to ensure that law enforcement remains impartial and upholds democratic integrity.
YSRCP Leaders to Visit Tuni
Emphasizing the need to maintain peace and order, Kannababu demanded the Vice Chairman election be conducted peacefully as directed by the High Court. He revealed that YSRCP leaders would visit Tuni to monitor the situation and show their support for the councillors.
With the political battle heating up, all eyes are now on the Election Commission to ensure a fair and transparent election process in Tuni.
