Tadepalli: Former Minister RK Roja has strongly criticized the Andhra Pradesh Governor’s address during the budget session, alleging that the ruling coalition forced the Governor to present a speech filled with blatant lies. Speaking at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, she lashed out at the government for failing to provide clarity on its election promises while instead speaking about “Vision 2047,” which she termed meaningless.
Roja also accused the Chandrababu Naidu-led government of fearing YSRCP’s role as the opposition in the assembly, suspecting that it would expose their failures.
Key Statements by RK Roja:
- “People voted for Chandrababu only for a five-year term.”
- “Mentioning Vision 2047 in the Governor’s speech is laughable.”
- “An assembly without an opposition exists nowhere in India.”
- “Only the Taliban regime lacks an opposition party in the world.”
- “In which democracy does the ruling party get the PAC chairman position?”
- “They are afraid of giving YSRCP opposition status because we will question their failures.”
Governor’s Speech: A Political Shield for Chandrababu?
Roja criticized the Governor’s address, claiming that it was scripted solely to praise Chandrababu Naidu and criticize YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. She pointed out that the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance had made 143 promises before the elections, yet the speech failed to provide any clarity on their implementation.
She questioned how a budget session could ignore key issues like education, healthcare, agriculture, and irrigation, stating that instead of addressing these areas, the government wrapped up the speech with impractical “Vision 2047” plans.
“People gave Chandrababu only five years, not until 2047. If the government cannot explain how it will fulfill its current promises, how can it talk about what it will do decades later?” Roja asked.
Chandrababu’s Habit of Betrayal
Roja accused Naidu of deceiving the people by making false promises. She highlighted contradictions in his policies, saying:
- The government claimed liquor prices wouldn’t be hiked, but reports suggest prices have already increased by ₹10 per bottle.
- Before elections, TDP promised not to increase power tariffs, yet within nine months, ₹15,000 crore worth of burden has been imposed on people.
- The Governor’s speech falsely claimed no burden on electricity bills, proving Chandrababu’s expertise in deception.
“They promised ₹1,500 per month for women, free bus travel, and financial assistance for farmers, but none of these were addressed in the Governor’s speech,” she added.
Opposition Status: Roja Slams Pawan Kalyan’s Remarks
Roja condemned Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan’s statement that YSRCP does not deserve opposition status, calling his comments baseless.
“If Pawan Kalyan truly believes in opposition values, he should resign as Deputy CM and become the Leader of the Opposition. But he won’t, because his priority is protecting Chandrababu, not the people.”
She also accused Naidu and Kalyan of engaging in diversion politics whenever they face criticism, stating:
- Naidu creates distractions instead of addressing real issues.
- When students protest for justice, he pretends to be hospitalized.
- Pawan Kalyan remains silent on women’s safety and youth concerns.
PAC Chairman Position: A Political Manipulation?
Roja slammed the coalition government for appointing a ruling party MLA as PAC chairman, a move unheard of in any democracy.
“Only in Taliban rule is there no opposition. Chandrababu is running Andhra Pradesh like a Taliban dictatorship,” she alleged.
She also accused the government of suppressing media freedom by allowing only pro-TDP channels in the assembly while blocking other media houses.
“They are implementing their own ‘Red Book Constitution’ to control the media. Their real intention is to ensure no one questions their failures.”
Jagan: A Leader Who Keeps His Promises
Roja concluded by emphasizing that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is a leader who fulfills every promise he makes. She ridiculed Naidu’s governance and warned people not to fall for his deceptive politics again.
