Visakhapatnam: Former Minister and YSRCP Visakhapatnam District President Gudivada Amarnath strongly criticized the alliance government, stating that the North Andhra Teacher MLC election results were a slap in the face for their governance. Addressing the media at the YSRCP city office in Visakhapatnam, Amarnath said that teachers have sent a strong message against the alliance’s anti-people governance.
Key Highlights of Amarnath’s Statement
✔️ Alliance leaders unable to accept defeat
✔️ Janasena and TDP collectively supported Raghuvarma
✔️ After Srinivasulu Naidu’s victory, they conveniently switched stance
✔️ Alliance should show even a single proof of their support for Srinivasulu Naidu
“Shamelessly Claiming the Winner as Their Own Candidate” – Amarnath
Amarnath ridiculed the alliance leaders, saying that after failing to ensure Raghuvarma’s victory, TDP leaders changed their stance overnight, now claiming that Srinivasulu Naidu was their candidate. He termed this an act of desperation and lack of integrity.
He reminded that TDP President Palla Srinivasa Rao held meetings urging support for Raghuvarma, and even called for votes in his favor through his social media account. Prominent leaders like Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, Ministers Atchannaidu and Vangalapudi Anitha, former Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, and former Union Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju openly supported Raghuvarma. Additionally, Janasena’s official handle had declared Raghuvarma as the joint candidate of TDP-Janasena. Amarnath challenged the alliance to provide even a single proof of their support for Srinivasulu Naidu.
“Alliance Government is Anti-Employee”
Amarnath asserted that in just 9 months, the alliance government has completely lost the trust of employees, as reflected in the election results. Teachers, who make up nearly 35% of government employees, have exposed the government’s failures.
Key failures of the alliance government as pointed out by Amarnath:
❌ PRC Committee not formed
❌ IR not given
❌ Three pending DA arrears
❌ No decision on pension policy
❌ ₹26,000 crore dues unpaid to employees
❌ Even monthly salaries were delayed
“Neglect of North Andhra Development”
Amarnath also accused the alliance government of ignoring North Andhra’s development. He pointed out that while ₹6,000 crore was allocated for Amaravati in the budget, Visakhapatnam—termed as the executive capital—received nothing.
Achievements of YSRCP in North Andhra, according to Amarnath:
✅ Bhogapuram International Airport
✅ Mulapeta Port
✅ Medical Colleges in Narsipatnam, Paderu, Vijayanagaram
✅ Uddanam Kidney Research Center
However, after the alliance came to power, no development initiatives have been taken forward. Amarnath warned that if the government continues to focus only on political vendetta instead of fulfilling its promises, it will face more setbacks like this MLC election result.
